Mac In Your City: Minneapolis, MN (Lakewood)

Mac In Your City is a three-day celebration of the Macalester community, bringing alumni together in cities and towns around the world for connection, conversation, and community.

Each event is unique because it's hosted by alumni. Whether you're gathering over coffee, enjoying a meal, exploring a local museum, or taking a neighborhood walk, you'll have the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, meet fellow Scots, and celebrate the Macalester spirit close to home.

Event Details

I will be leading a walking tour in Lakewood Cemetery of the final resting places of people who shaped Minnesota (Wellstone, Humphrey, Loring) and some not-so-famous people with interesting stories.

We will meet at the cemetery entrance gates at the intersection of 36th Street and Hennepin Avenue.  The paved roads between sections are wheelchair accessible.  To get close to actual gravesites requires walking on grass and uneven surfaces.  There will be a rest stop midway through the time.  Free parking is available inside cemetery grounds.  The The E Line bus runs there from downtown Minneapolis.  For other routes, check metrotransit.org.
