Mac In Your City: Glasgow, Scotland, UK

Mac In Your City is a three-day celebration of the Macalester community, bringing alumni together in cities and towns around the world for connection, conversation, and community.

Each event is unique because it's hosted by alumni. Whether you're gathering over coffee, enjoying a meal, exploring a local museum, or taking a neighborhood walk, you'll have the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, meet fellow Scots, and celebrate the Macalester spirit close to home.

Event Details

Join us for traditional music sessions in the Ben Nevis Bar. They mostly feature a blend of Scottish and Irish music but draw from a wide range of musical traditions and influences. Each session is led by a few core musicians and are usually joined by guests which change each week. No two sessions are the same.  There are regular sessions on Thursday evenings from 8pm to 11ish. Our event start time is a bit earlier so we can get a table.  

The Ben Nevis Bar is in Glasgow's trendy Finneston neighbourhood. It is on several bus routes, is a 15-20 minute walk from the train or the underground. Parking in the area is expensive so driving is not encouraged, but if needed there is on street parking in the area and a car park at the Kelvingrove Gallery, which is walkable.
